Terms of Service

These Terms set out the agreement between you and us for using Nomio, a multi-currency budgeting app made by Vicino Labs. By installing and using the app, you agree to what follows.

1. Purpose

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Vicino Labs ("we", "us", "the Company") and users of the mobile application Nomio (the "App").

2. Definitions

  1. "App" means Nomio, a personal multi-currency budgeting application made by the Company.
  2. "User" means anyone who installs and uses the App under these Terms.
  3. "Content" means the App's screens, logos, design, and source code.

4. Effect and changes to these Terms

  1. These Terms take effect once posted in the App or by any other method we designate.
  2. We may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, and will give advance notice of the effective date and the reason for any change.
  3. If you don't agree to amended Terms, you may stop using the App and delete it. Continuing to use the App after amended Terms take effect means you accept them.

5. The service

The App provides:

  1. Expense, income, account and asset tracking with multi-currency conversion, budgeting, recurring transactions, and statistics/trend views
  2. Receipt photo attachments with amount recognition, transaction search/filtering, and CSV/JSON backup export/import
  3. Optional Google Drive backup/restore
  4. App lock (biometrics) and in-app reminders for budget overspend and recurring transactions
  5. Multiple languages and display settings including dark mode and theme colors
  6. Premium (no ads plus extra features) as an in-app purchase

6. Important notes on using the service

  1. The App is a tool for tracking your own income and expenses. It does not provide investment, tax, or financial advice, and nothing in it should be read as advice on any financial decision.
  2. Exchange-rate data is for reference only, may differ from the rate at the time of an actual transaction, and its accuracy is not guaranteed.
  3. Your financial data is stored only on your device by default. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to back it up, and for any loss of data due to a lost device, app deletion, or a reset.

7. Intellectual property

All copyright and intellectual property rights in the App's logo, trademarks (including the "Nomio" name and emblem), design, copy, and source code belong to the Company. Users may not reproduce, distribute, transmit, publish, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any of this without our prior written consent, nor allow a third party to do so.

8. Your obligations

You must not:

  1. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
  2. Interfere with the App's normal operation or with other users' use of it
  3. Violate applicable law or these Terms

9. Paid features (Premium) & payment

  1. The App is free to use by default; the free version shows ads served through Google AdMob.
  2. You can buy Premium as a one-time in-app purchase. Premium removes ads and unlocks PDF monthly reports, savings goals, budget rollover, extra widget styles, and unlimited accounts, categories and recurring transactions. It is not a subscription, so no cancellation is needed.
  3. Pricing follows the amount shown in your store (Google Play/Apple App Store), and payment is processed by that store.
  4. Refunds follow the policy and process of the store that processed the payment; we do not process refunds directly. When you switch devices, use “Restore purchase” with the same store account.
  5. For digital content, your right of withdrawal may expire once performance has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgment that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal (§ 356(5) of the German Civil Code), to the extent permitted by law.

10. Advertising

  1. The free version includes ads served through Google AdMob. See our Privacy Policy for details on how ad-related data is processed.
  2. Ad content is determined by Google and its advertisers; we do not control the content of individual ads in advance and are not responsible for third-party products or services advertised through them.

11. Changes, suspension, and discontinuation of the service

  1. We may change or discontinue all or part of the App's services for operational or technical reasons.
  2. Except in urgent circumstances (security, legal compliance, etc.), we will give advance notice before suspending the service.

12. Disclaimer of liability

  1. The App is provided "as is"; we do not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of exchange-rate data, calculations, or any other information the App provides.
  2. Except in cases of intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for the outcome of your financial decisions, for data loss due to device failure, data corruption, or not using backup, or for service limitations arising from an outage or policy change at a third-party service (exchange-rate API, Google Drive, Google AdMob, etc.).
  3. We are not liable for failing to provide the service due to force majeure, power outages, causes attributable to the user, or other circumstances outside our normal control.
  4. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for damages is limited to the amount you actually paid (zero for free use).

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute between the Company and a user are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of habitual residence (for example, as an EU member state). Otherwise, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts responsible for the Company's registered location (Dortmund, Germany).
